Awesome boating videos for your viewing pleasure The SJX-A razor blade among butter knives The Anchorage Recreation Program manages recreational use and tourism for the Iditarod National Historic Trail, the Unalakleet National Wild River and the Campbell Tract in Anchorage.    This trail is about 22 miles long and starts out as a rough dirt road in a wooded forest for the first few miles but becomes more of a technical trail as you go up in elevation.    This 13 mile route makes its way up Belanger Pass and around the Syncline Mountains to the union of Flume Creek and Alfred Creek.   

Bird Creek Valley Trail Located in the third largest state park in the United States, this forest has around six miles of ATV trails that consists of moderately difficult terrain and runs along the creek up to Bird Pass in Chugach State Park.    Locally known as The Hills, this large area offers miles of old and rugged mining roads.    This old mining trail offers miles of scenic mountain views, numerous creek crossings.    Trail  (BLM, AK Department of Fish and Game) The Coal Mine Road is a rugged 4x4 trail that goes by eight small lakes and offers excellent mountain views plus decent fishing.    Trail  (BLM, State Recreation) This trail is more commonly used in the winter by snowmobiles and sleds, but is open in the summer to all motorized vehicles under 1,500 lbs.    Crown Point Mine Trail This trail is about ten miles long and leads to an old mine and is generally open for riding around June through September.    This popular area has over 150 miles of trails and several access points.   

I have a good amount of experience riding an ATV, but not with scenery like this. Bob was great letting us get off the ATV's several times and spotting bears, a goat, moose tracks, and an eagle, but also allowing us to hike down to a waterfall and also taking pictures and videos. I was torn between... We had the absolute best time on our excursion. Our tour guide was phenomenal, and went out of his way to make our trip enjoyable. We saw some wildlife and truly enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We felt completely safe during the entire trip and would do it again in a heartbeat. It was the perfect way to experience the Alaskan... Anyone who gives this adventure less than a 5/5 should be checked for a pulse. BOB IS THE MAN! Hands down the best value in the area. Our tour lasted for almost 3 1/2 hours! You will see bear....you will see salmon....you may see eagles....you may see Moose (if the locals haven't shot it yet)....you will get wet....you will get... We took the Bird Creek morning ATV tour.

On the tour was me and my husband, and two families with two kids each which worked out to be six ATVS and our tour guide Bob. It was a lot of people, but not too many. Our guide handled the group well and made sure everyone got the attention they needed.... Edit: While my partner considered the trail to be 'beginner's level', I personally think it could be closer to moderate, due to the large number of rocks. Rocks can easily cause someone to lose control of the ATV if they're going too fast. That being said, you won't need the winch for this ride. Bob really lives up to... I'm a fan of riding ATV's anywhere, but this was a special treat because it was on the side of a mountain in beautiful Alaska. Our guides (Bob and Caela) were fantastic! Bob was awesome, he really made us feel welcome and took the time to show us what a wonderful place Girdwood was. The ride was so much fun,... We did an afternoon ride in the Girdwood/Bird Creek area. Neither of my sons had driven them previously, but the guide offered good instructions.

He clearly knew what he was doing and we felt comfortable and safe. This experience ended up being a favorite for our sons out of the entire trip. Initially, I wasn't sure what to expect. Took the afternoon Bird Creek tour with guides Bob and Caela. Very scenic tour and both were very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend booking with them. They will do everything in their power to make sure you have fun, stay safe, and enjoy your time. They provided valuable information on other local activities and food which was above and beyond.... We had a blast with this group. We did a private 2 hour trip and our guide was great. The riding was bumpy, but fun. He took us to a wonderful spot by the creek where we were able to see the salmon in the water and a beautiful waterfall. Four of us in our early 50s rode to Bird Creek with two other tourists and our guide. I'm kind of small and was driving myself and I had a bit of experience with motorized vehicles in Florida, but nothing like this trail!
