I ride on coastal roads that are built on shifting surfaces, so my main requirement for tires is stability over uneven or cracked pavement, and wet grip. I am not quite as concerned about wear because I don't spare the horses, and I figure that just comes with the territory. These Avon's have made riding so much more enjoyable with precise handling that still allows for direction changes. I have had no squirming in hard cornering, no following of pavement seams, and and experienced very good wet traction. No sign of wear after a few thousand hard miles. Outstanding in every way Wendy Newton (Manhattan Beach ) Just put 1000 miles on my second set of AVON Trailriders, AV53/AV54. The first set did not see the "trail" and were great on pavement with my Ducati Multistrada 1100S. Not so good for canyon riding as the sides wore out fast and only got 2000 miles with alot of center tread left. However, the second set, which did see the trail, approximately 40 miles and another 1100 miles pavement didn't do so well.
