I also love the attention I get from it. Bought this helmet about 2 years ago, I'm a everyday rider, been a great helmet over all, good fit, not too heavy, visor design is awesome with a quick release for easy swap between clear and tinted shields. Only reason for 4 out 5, is the wind noise. I like to listen to music, but i tend to ride with the volume on the high side simply because of wind noise at higher speeds. Bonus is DOT and SNELL approved! Great helmet for the dosh. Fit and finish on par with other more expensive brands. A little noisy but aerodynamically very stable, even when turning your head at speed. Great ventilation but this also increases the noise level. Bell really seems to be stepping up their game. In the future I will be looking at other models from Bell. Bought this as my first helmet. Bell did a very good job designing the flow of air through the inside of the helmet. A little snug like all the other reviews said. But well worth my money.I also bought the smoke gray visor for an additional $40 and makes it look really cool.

I originally purchased this use the Transitions Lens. I am extremely satisfied with this helmet! It fits well even after 2 years of use. The neck dam on the bottom helps keep cool air out in the winter and the heat it is tolerable in the summer. it weighs a little more than usual, but it is a solid helmet and I use this one more than my others. If you purchase this helmet, please get a Transitions lens as well! This is the first helmet I've boughten online. I bought this one in medium and it was a little snug at first but the interior padding has formed to my head pretty quick. The weight is pretty good, not heavy like some reviews say. And the ventilation is great. I'm never really that sweaty after riding around Panama City Beach, Florida. This is a great helmet all around. I have a huge dome so for me I would say the XL is a bit snug. If in doubt go up one size which I would do but I don't think they have XXL. Weight and comfort is ok.. but I am disappointed in its visor design..

The visor does not sit all way down.. I've gone as far as buying a new visor.. The new visor doesn't sit all way down.. This flaw I causes air leaks and causes noise.. got it to me quick. Gave this as a gift ! It was exactly what I was hoping for! - Always expect 'High' quality from 'Bell' and you will not be disappointed.I just received the 'Vortex' and am pleasantly surprised at the level attention to 'Detail' that 'Bell' has given to an helmet at an affordable price tag. The Fit is a bit too 'Snug', I usually wear 'M' but should have ordered a 'L' and that is the only gripe I have over a very high quality helmet. Well built, comfortable, good price, and it looks flat out radical. My favorite helmet yet. I bought this helmet for my wife since she loves butterflies, its built well and is of mid weight. It also has a quick release for the visor which is very helpful. Overall its a grea.t helmet for the price I love this helmet. Great quality and a reasonable price compared to other brands.

Really nice how the visor comes off so easily. I don't really know about sizing. I previously had a Bell motocross helmet that was a large so I assumed I would take a large on a Bell street bike helmet and it does fit the same. I waited to review this helmet until I had adequate time to ride with it. It fits slightly snug in the face cheek area, and I am thin. It is very comfortable to wear though. The vents open and close easily while worn. I've worn this helmet in temperatures down as low as about 38 degrees fahrenheit and I don't recommend using it below about 45 degree unless you tape the vents closed. There are 2 open exhaust vents in the rear of the helmet which do not close. It has rectangles rather than D rings for strap fastening, and I find them more cumbersome to unfasten. The extension tab to loosen the strap does work well enough though. I find the rectangular rings more cumbersome to connect to some bike helmet holders too and prefer a D ring design. The dangling strap hold down is magnetic, and is a great feature that is very quick and easy to use to prevent getting beat up by the unused length of the helmet strap when at speed.

I wish more helmets had this magnetic system. The graphics are unique and very high quality in a flat finish for the Flying Tiger scheme. Top this off with Snell safety rating and it's really hard to find as good a value in a helmet anywhere near this price point anywhere. The shield system works great too. It's amazingly easy and fast to change shields without tools. And the availability of an optional photochromic shield that lightens in dark and darkens in sun is just awesome. The Bell Vortex is an awesome helmet value. This is a great helmet light weight very comfertable wind vents are in a good location and actually work over all I would deff recommend this helmet forgot to mention it looks awsome Looks cool fits good kind of tight at first but overall great helmet First helmet and I love it. At first I didnt think I would get enough air flow while riding. Man was I wrong, the vents kept the cool air flowing through the helmet. Will buy another Bell helmet in a different color in the future.
