What we actually have here are three separate items from BMW . Next, It looks like the Bayerische Motoren Werke is entering the bagger market in 2017 alongside rides such as the H-D Street Glide and Honda Gold Wing F6B, just to name a few. I mean, if it were anybody but a German company I would wonder how they could be so accurate on such a small number, but instead here we are. The NHTSA has reported a recall on a mere 21 units here in the U.S.— a score of ’16 and ’17 S1000RR models and a single, lonely S1000R. It seems that a bolt within the rear-shock mounting hardware may have been improperly torqued at the factory.

continue reading 2017 BMW C 650 Sport / C 650 GT Nobody blurs the line between scooter and proper motorcycle better than the engineers at BMW , and the C 650 range is no exception. The 2017 C 650 “Sport” and “GT” models are a direct carryover from the ’16 model year, but that’s not surprising given how difficult it would be to improve upon the bundle of features already built in. I mean, it’s a scooter with traction control and ABS on board, plus a relatively large and powerful engine with a sophisticated engine management system, so this is not your grandfather’s scooter. There is considerable pressure on the small-displacement market, and all the major players are hard at work to populate the various genres with these mini-mills. Beemer combined the top-shelf Automatic Stability Control, optional Electronic Suspension Adjustment, Dynamic Traction Control and variable power-delivery modes with a rather sporty platform, both in form and performance. The 1,170 cc, twin-cylinder boxer engine delivers power numbers that would embarrass many pure sport bikes and drives the RS into the realm of high-speed, long-distance riders.

Beemer’s RS series has always been about touring comfort since the original brought its fixed fiberglass fairing to the market back in 1976 with the R100 RS, and this newest incarnation toes the family line with tour-tastic features that should take the edge off the longer jaunts.
