Shinko 230 Tour Master Excellent tire for vintage bikes. I highly recommend them to my customers and folks on all the web sites I visit. These have a higher speed rating than competitive tires at a fraction of the cost. I have them on my own bikes and I'm impressed by their handling characteristics. Bob (New Braunfels ) This tire has a great white wide sidewall that is easy to clean up when scuffed up. Smooth riding and great handling characteristics. Will buy again when needed. Gabe Clary (Quinlan ) Bought/installed this tire on the rear of my C50.I've put 3,500 miles on, and it's already worn down to nothing. No big twisties, burnouts, etc. By far the worst tread wear I've ever experienced. Capt. Stu (Port Vincent ) Great Tire for the Price This is my second rear 705. I bought the set 6500 ago and the front tire still looks good. I ride mostly flat paved roads with a few curves here and there around the river. The tire feels secure even wet roads.
Can't beat the price. BOB (Little Rock ) I have run nothing but this tire on the front of my E Glide since trying the first one. When you only have about three sq inches on the ground, you want it to stick no mattter the conditions. This is that tire Doug S (Clearwater ) At a great price. Jim A. (Wilmington ) This is my second set. First set got 10,635 so I figured I'd shoot for 11,000 this time. Sensible riding is the key. Great service from MCSS as always. J Adair (Wilmington )First set I got 10,635 so I figured I'd shoot for 11,000 this time. Sensible riding is the key. Great service from MCSS as always.. Raul Martinez (Murphy ) I've had this particular tire before found it to be all that is promised except mileage wear comileage have been better michael (winter springs ) Mark (Culver Cityc ) Shinko Rear 777 on Honda VTX 1800 R I installed front and rear around June 2015. The ride has been great. Smooth, stable at high speeds, good on Freeway or Twisty mountain roads.
The front still has good thread and more miles to go. However, the rear seems to have worn faster. May need to replace rears soon, but front seems good. I would buy these again, but wondering if Rear 180-70/15 may not be as good tread life as the Dunlap I had on before. Price is clearly better. Ray (New Ulm ) Electra Glide Ultra On Shinko 777 HD's I'm putting on my 5th set, replacing my 4th set of Shinko 777 HD's on my Ultra. These tires are incredible, at any cost! But the price is a real bonus! A set of tires, WWW at that, for less than the price of a rear tire at the dealer! That equals a lot of extra beers in my belly!! I get 6500 - 8000 miles on the rear, 2 x's that on the front. (Actually, I can get 16,000 - 20,000 on the front, but don't want to get down into the 'body' rubber on the tire). I do a lot of touring riding, 15,000 - 18,000 miles a year. So, 2 rear tires to 1 front tire, that's the way I order them, 2 rear, 1 front, then I'm set for a while. The grip is great, dry, wet, riding in the rain, no worry, great grip!
Tread life, no problem, better than the Dunflops I was running! The WWW are excellent! Get a bottle of Bleche-White whitewall cleaner, follow the directions, they will stay just as white as new until you wear them out. Don't wait 6 or 8 months to clean them though! Like anything else, they will stain. The blue coating on the WWW when new can be difficult to get off. At your local car wash, try soaking the blue with Tire Cleaner and/or Engine Degreaser, then pressure washing with the soap on. Works pretty well for me. BTW, the HD in the tire description does NOT stand for Harley-Davidson! It stands for Heavy Duty, i.e., heavier sidewall and tread carcass. The 777 HD is designed and fabricated for large baggers (touring bikes) that generally carry a load, 2 up, clothes, gear, etc. Heavy Duty for heavy loads on the highway, lots of speed, lots of miles. If your riding a bagger or other large bike mostly around town or on short trips, you may find the 777 (not HD) to be a better match for your bike.
