craigslist dirt bikes for sale atlanta

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Thieves avoided surveillance cameras and hopped over barbed wire fence to steal expensive collector’s motorcycles and tools out of a Kansas City storage garage. The crime occurred in the Martin City area and left the victims feeling helpless, after they've since spotted one of their stolen bikes for sale on Craigslist. “I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, that is the bike!’” said Landon Hopkins, who owns the motorcycles with his business partner. Hopkins recognized it right away, as he is familiar with the dents and scratches that made the KTM 525 dirt bike personal to him. “The KTM, it`s just a very high quality bike,” he said. “They`re made in Austria.” But now it's gone – along with a unique 1970 Honda CB100 with a 6-speed gear box and hand clutch, and an extremely rare Utah-made ATK 450 (only five models were ever sold to the public). “Your heart just sinks a little bit,” Hopkins said. “I`ve had these bikes for a very long time.
They`re not for sale. They are irreplaceable motorcycles that disappeared from a garage in the middle of the night. The owner asked FOX 4 not to reveal the location to protect the property from future thefts. The storage space is surrounded by barbed wire fence and cloaked in cameras. But that didn't deter the thieves as they ducked past surveillance and cut a hole in the back of the building. “It was just trashed,” Hopkins said. “They went through all of our file cabinets, and going through the file cabinets, they stole everything.” Hopkins said the crooks are now using his personal information, as well as his business partner’s information, to try to open new credit cards in their names. “Honestly what angers me the most is after they robbed us, they stole our identities!” he said. Adding to the frustration – Hopkins has since seen what he believes is his exact KTM 525 pop up on Craigslist for $2,000, but the seller isn't responding to inquiries.
He called detectives, but police told him it's a long process to get permissions and subpoenas to track down who posted it. “Even though I’m actively looking at one of my motorcycles for sale on the internet, there`s nothing I can do about it!” It’s a situation that leaves him feeling helpless, but that is also pushing him to be more proactive than ever as he tries to find out who took his property. “I hope the police find them before I do, because I’m not happy,” he said. Police dusted for fingerprints and are actively investigating this case, but Hopkins hopes you can help, too. He's asking if anyone has seen his stolen motorcycles, to please call Crime Stoppers at (816) 474-TIPS.McDonough, GA (WGCL) — There’s nothing like finding the perfect dog.
