dunlop motorcycle tyres q3

Dunlop’s Sportmax Q3 is the ultra high performance sport tire featuring Dunlop’s Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT). Dunlop’s Carbon Fiber Technology (CFT) uses carbon fiber reinforcement in the tire sidewalls for exceptional cornering performance and feel. Aggressive Q3 tread pattern uses fewer grooves that are longer in length to enhance wet-weather performance. Intuitive Response Profile™ (IRP) technology in the rear tire allows greater latitude in line choice while cornering, plus amazingly linear steering. MT Multi-Tread™ technology in the rear tire uses a tough, long-wearing compound in the center of the tread for excellent traction and longer tread life, plus special lateral grip compounds for outstanding grip. Q3 tire compounds were derived from road-race compounds to yield maximum sportbike performance. The Dunlop Sportmax Q3 offers superb grip, stability, steering feel and longevity on the street and on the track. Designed, tested and manufactured in America, the Sportmax Q3 sets new standards for high-performance sport tires.

IRP tires also offer phenomenal steering and handling characteristics thanks to a taller profile along with sides that taper in more aggressively. The new Sportmax Q3 represents yet another direct benefit yielded from Dunlop’s AMA Pro Road Racing involvement. As the control tire supplier for AMA Pro Road Racing, Dunlop invested in new tire-producing machinery necessary to accommodate race tire production at Dunlop’s Buffalo, NY, manufacturing facility. These same high-tech machines are used to produce the all-new Q3 rear tire.

Rear / 190/55ZR17 75W Rear / 160/60ZR17 69W Rear / 200/50ZR17 75W Rear / 240/40ZR18 79W I ride a 94' ZX1100 Ninja almost everyday. I have found for my sport bike these Q3's are about the best I have found. Cornering up in Angeles Crest Hwy. or ripping through the snake in Malibu they feel like they are glued to the road. They also heat up very quickly. I usually get between 7-8k out of them. I am not doing burn outs but I am doing hard braking, acceleration, and cornering. I keep them inflated for daily driving at max psi then drop a couple pounds for the tight corner days. At speed they are rock solid. Excellent response of traction under hard braking setting up for a deep corner. I gave them a four star for tread wear but for a super tacky and great confidence builder what can expect on tread wear. I have been in rain a handful of times and they have excellent wet grip as well. This is my third set and the first turn I dipped into I could easy feel the difference in feedback.

If you have a heavier sport bike I would give these a shot....great price too. Good track day tire, if dry. Good track day and general road riding tire if dry conditions. Not so good in the wet when it moves around a fair bit. Wear good for sticky tire - 6K mostly-street miles before replacement but Dunlop Sportsmart much better (15K) and good in wet. (Front Sportsmarts wear twice as quickly as rear.) Bike GSXR1000 - intermediate track rider. Went out and did a trackday on the new tire. what a perfectly predictable tire. I agree with all the reviews. (North Las Vegas, NV)Good grip and smooth in and out of turns. Don't know about wear only put about a 1000 miles on it Tires stick very well to the road. Only complaint is they only last around 2000 miles. I will continue to use them just wish they lasted longer. I rode Shinko Advance 005 before and honestly thought it was a good tire. After switching to Q3 I realized how tire should feel like. Shinko didn't slide or anything but I didn't have the confidence to push it harder in the corners.

On Q3 I see why. Q3 feels like you ride on rails in corners. Awesome confidence building tire. Highly recommended for people that try to push their bike harder as well as new riders for their ultimate grip. By far, the best tires I have ever ridden on. I ride pretty aggressively on curvy country roads and still managed to get 5700 miles out of the rear and the front still have some life left. Great wet traction and phenomenal dry traction. These tires never "chattered" or "drifted" on me like Michelins have. They also don't get greasy or oily when they get hot like some other tires do. I am on 3rd set and wouldn't think of any other tire for my modified ZX6R. perfect track day tire I use Dunlop Q3 on my Daytona 675 track bike. I am a intermediate level track day rider and these are the perfect tires for my riding style and skill level. Great balance of stick, life and cost in a DOT tire appropriate for the track. Much better value than other tires. Went a size up

I went a size up for my 07 Gsx-R rear tire and I went with the 190 Dunlop tire, I will never go back down to a 180 this tire made a difference in handling and stability definitely recommend it!! The best low price tire around. Nowhere near worth the hype Read rave reviews about the Q3 so I decided to buy a set. Price was good but sadly quality was not bang for your buck. Dry traction: was good initally but as miles racked up they slipped more frequently and began to cup. Tread life: ive got about 3,500 mi on them and they're down to the wear marks. Wet traction: is TERRIBLE! Almost low sided and would spin the tire easily if the bike had any semi- aggressive lean around corners. These are NOT confidence inspiring tires. Switching back to Metzeler next set. Great bang for your buck I've mounted a few sets of these Q3's on my Honda CBR600RR and have never had any issues. The shop that mounts them will probably have to spend an extra bit of time balancing them as Dunlop's have that trait.
