The Wheel & Tyre Bible Vintage Tyre Size Conversion Chart The table below offers a quick lookup for common vintage and antique tyre sizes. Many of these older sizes don't have any direct correlation to modern tyre notations so these tables should be used as a guide to what could be used in today's sizes. A few manufacturers do still make classic tyre sizes, and where possible you should use those. However, these tables are more for those of you looking for equivalents to tyres that simply aren't available any more. Inch size, Pre 1965BMW R100 GS BLACK OPS This '83 BMW R100GS was fully rebuilt by us and transformed into a machine which, we think, could have been used for some kind of "black operation".

We wanted this bike to look stealth and "mean".We assume we achieved this double goal.It shall now have a new life in Miami, Florida - US.Pictures: Hugo JézégabelPowered by Motul oil. This '74 BMW R75/5 was found by us on behalf of the client who commissioned us for the project. When found, half of its engine was missing.Still we saw a real "potential" in this dead bike. That's why we named it "Sroul", which means "Black Magic" in Arabic. It took us longer than usual to reach the final result we were seeking but the wait was worth it.It shall now have a new life in the UK.Pictures: Gary JézégabelPowered by Motul oil. Yamaha TW 125 Blue Tracker This Yamaha TW 125 has been fully redesigned to look like a "real" bike even though its owner did not want to ride a "big toy".Once again we got inspired by the fantastic and timeless "dirt track" look because he wanted to ba able to lighlty go off road from time to time on the roads of his native Normandy country side.Given the smile upon his face when he discovered the machine, we assume he pictured himself easily on the handlbar of his new "little toy".

We can be cheeky sometimes: we decided we would go for a real "dirt track" inspiration to help him seat back on the saddle with no fear.Fully rebuilt engine, frame and electric wiring. We hope now he will not hesitate to take it back on dirt trails.Photos: Gary JézégabelPowered by Motul Oil. This '79 SP1000 Guzzi was delivered to us in the worst condition we had ever seen. And that was our first Guzzi. Could it be even worse? We completely re-built this dead bike and brought her back to life under the Italian name of "Monica".We assume you don't need us to enlighten you on the reason why we picked an Itlain girl name for that one...Photos: Aurore de BettigniesPowered by Motul Oil. We decided to convert this heavy "Mystic" R100R from '92 into a bike that could have taken place, somehow, to the "Baja Race" back in the seventies.`From what we know, its owner has now the pleaseure to take this lady a bit off road on the island of Corsica.Photos: Gary Jézégabel.Powered by Motul Oil

BMW R80GS Dirt Island This '84 BMW R80GS was sent to us from Tahiti. It arrived in a quite rotted condition and we assume its owner was often riding off road on this one.We made our decision to go for a "dirt track" look and make its motorcycle look like a sexy and still serious lady.Photos: Gary Jézégabel.Powered by Motul Oil Suzuki DR650 'The Arsenale' The donor machine is a 650 Suzuki DR RS (with electric start) from 1994.We completely rebuilt the machine (both frame and engine) to turn it into this big toy for big boys. This project was commissioned by TheArsenale.TheArsenale is the motion authority that gathers the finest inventions mobility craftsmen could ever create. Photos by Gary Jézégabel.Powered by Motul Oil BMW R100R Blue Phantom The donor machine is a 1993 BMW R100R.Fully restored, we turned in into a sweet street tracker on behalf of its German owner. We also decided to go for a paint job on the tank and picked up the official blue used by Rolls Royce for some of their beautiful cars (among which the world famous Phantom).

The donor bike here is a BMW R100 /7 from 1984.We called it "The Black Pearl".

He wanted something unique and quite "low profile".We got inspired by the famous "B2" stealth aeroplane and from what we saw when he discovered the finished bike, we can say he was a happy man!Powered by Motul oil Photos: Gary Jézégabel. The donor machine is the very last carburated bike ever produced by BMW: the R100 R Mystic. This one if from 1994 and was retrieved with only 3000 kms.We made it lighter by 30 kilos. We turned it into a more fun and easy to handle machine. This machine is a perfect one for both commuting and road-tripping. When we retrieved this "BMW R80 GS" from 1981, it was a complete mess.It was not working but worst of all: there was some rust even inside the genuine carburettors. The owner wanted a "tribute to dirt track" motorcycle. Given what we saw in his eyes when he discovered the finished bike, we assume we met his expectations.

The Italian owner of this machine wanted to be able to use his bike both as a commuter and as a road trip machine. We naturally went for a BMW R80/7from 1981.He wanted something "battered down" still 100% renewed. There was no hesitation when we traded this vintage Yamaha DT 125 tank to our friend "Sonic Seb".The BMY was born! Here comes a vintage BMW "R75/6" from 1975. The owner is one of the most "chic" gentleman we have ever met. It was therefore natural that for this very unique time, we decided to go for a paint job on a vintage "Honda" tank. And if we were to re-do it, we'd go for it 100%. We are talking here about a 1976 legendary BMW "R90 S" with wonderful Dell Orto carburetors and dedicated camshaft... Still for an unknown reason, coming with mag wheels and not rim wheels this time. The owner wanted to go for a street tracker inspiration which he could use for both commuting and road tripping. Convincing him to go for a vintage non OEM tank with no paint job was not that hard.
