A group of us from New Zealand were riding our bikes from LA to the Florida Keys and had a few minor issues with the bikes. The service team managed to fit us i David M. To make a long story short, I dropped my bike off on a Fr Mike DoiglasI went and purchased my first Harley from Baton Rouge Harley Davidson and it was great. The first thing I noticed was that they have, by far, the best reception Derek Helmke. Your "service writer" said the speed sensor will NOT shut off t in the dressing room twice! I went to check out. My wife and I will be travelling from the UK to Baton Rouge in April 2013 (a couple of weeks time) and I'm trying to find somewhere local to rent a motorcycle, ideally a Harley, but having no luck.
1949 indian scout motorcycle sale I've been told the HD dealer in Baton Rouge has a new owner and no longer offers rentals.
idaho vehicle sales tax exemption form Does anybody know of a rental company ?
harley davidson for sale venturaOr if not does anybody know of a reliable car rental company ?
motorcycle trail riding devon I have no clue about motorcycles or rentals but I am always concerned when I see motorcyclists (with or without helmets) in this Baton Rouge traffic.

Have you been to the US before? Particularly with our road conditions with pot holes, traffic, and southern climate with lots of pop-up thunderstorms, I would stick with a rental car. There are several agencies at the airport. Thrifty and Enterprise are good ones; be sure to buy the insurance which is not cheap but very helpful if something happens. One destination mentioned in this post Thanks for taking time to reply - I appreciate it. I do ride a Harley here in the UK and sometimes our weather / roads are not great but maybe better than yours ! Looks like I might have to look at renting a car for a few days. Can anybody recommend any routes or places to visit ? (we will only have 7 days) I've heard about the River Road - is that worth a look ? You should first do a search on this forum, looking at Lafayette, Baton Rouge and day trips from New Orleans. There is lots of info. that has been posted which will be very helpful. After you review this info., let us know any followup questions.

You would want to travel the River Road only to see several outstanding plantations which are open for tours. Are you planning time in New Orleans? 2 destinations mentioned in this post Unfortunately we haven't made any plans to visit New Orleans at the moment but depending on the distance then maybe we should ? New Orleans is only an hour away by interstate and is an absolute must. You will be kicking yourself in years to come if you don't visit this fabulous city. We've had several UK friends over the years fall instantly in love with this city and continue to visit frequently. If you will be here for a few weeks, you can visit all of south Louisiana, including Baton Rouge as well as Cajun Country in southwest Louisiana near Lafayette. This time of year is perfect for a visit. I'm curious as to why you chose Baton Rouge as your destination. Don't get me wrong,..it is a nice city but when compared to New Orleans, there is certainly not as much to do and experience.

Didn't realise New Orleans is only an hour away ! To be very honest, the reason we are travelling to and staying in Baton Rouge is because I was lucky enough to win a competition which included a week;s stay at the Hilton in Baton Rouge. Unfortunately we only have 8 days and have never been to the US before !There is a Harley rental on Siegel lane at the main Harley dealership. They are very helpful. Make sure you bring proof of uk insurance on a bike in uk as they demand it. I too live in uk and have been to Baton Rouge many times. Also highly recomeend New Orleans as it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.. You would probably also need to rent a car as taxi's are very difficult to get hold of there and very time consuming...and yes traffic is crazy but if you have ridden for a while and don't filter and rev the bike a lot so the drivers who normally do not use their mirrors are aware of you you should be good.. Also Country Roads Magazine does an outstanding job presenting weekend events each Thursday so I would sign up for those emails..

just google Country Roads Magazine. They cover Baton Rouge, New Orleans and surrounding areas including rural and into parts of Mississippi. I still would recommend hiring a car rather than a Harley especially since you have never been to US before. Just my 2 cents worth. I'm assuming that you are staying at the Capital Hilton downtown. Are you sure about because I sent Baton Rouge HD an email asking about rentals and they told me that the new owner no longer offers motorcycle rentals. Thanks for your advice - I'll take it all on board and hopefully make some decisions. Probably rent a car and a motorcycle if we have time. You are correct, we are staying at the Capitol Hilton.
