I guess I'm cheap). I can't remember if I saw vendors in Dukes lane or at Aloha Stadium that carried these shirts that at a cheaper prcie or note? Of course if they do and the shirts are so cheap that they will fall apart after a few washes....then I will just spend the money for a higher quality shirt. What is the drinking water situation? I try to drink at least 2 litres a day. Is the water at hotels potable? If not, I have a Brita that I can filter water if necessary or buy a few bottles every day. I'm staying at the Sands Villa. No worries abou the quailty. Just bring a bottle you can refill from the tap and enjoy! Public water supplies are safe, by law, throughout the US. Hawaii, in particular, has very high quailty water. , Honolulu is ranked #6 out of 100 "big" US cities. We never worry about drinking from the tap, but there are also options for inexpensive bottled water ($1 to $1.50 for a 1 liter bottle) in every ABC store (which means on every block). We will often buy those out of convenience, when we're out and about. For t-shirts, if you find HD ones cheaper at the swap meet, they are probably illegal copies.Thanks so much for the quick response. Great news about the H20 situation. I was worried about having to lug a case a H20 from the store. Not too surprised about the Harley shirts. In the long run, I know it is better to buy direct as the quality is so much better and will likely last for a long time versus a cheap rip off version. Good thing I like my brother (most days)! One of the bonuses about vacationing Hawaii as opposed to other popular destinations for Aussies is that you CAN drink the water. Those that've ever had "Bali Belly" will now exactly what I mean. Safe and doesn't taste weird. Harley Davidson shirts are sold under license and are guaranteed to be of top quality. Most knockoffs are "Harley style" shirts and the difference is immediately noticeable. There are three 'Harley Motorclothes" stores in the Waikiki area. One at Hilton Hawaiian Village, one at Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre and one on the corner of Kalakau Ave and Oahu Ave. The main Harley Davidson Dealership is Cycle City, near the airport. As you exit the airport and travel to Waikiki on the Queen Liliuokalani Fwy, if you look to your left, you'll see the dealership which is a high building with a class facade displaying bikes in their private museum. If you want to drop in, your'e probably better off exiting the airport on Rodgers Blvd, turning right onto N Nimitz Hwy (underneath the QL Fwy), then a left at Puuloa Rd to Cycle city.
There's a Wendys next door if you're starving from the flight. For a real thrill for him, ask at the dealership for a tour of the bike museum and take him some photos of the very unique bikes for him. A 3cyl HD, a 5cyl Kawasaki, a Rokon 2wd bike, etc. Some of these stores may have some shirt specials, but don't depend on it.
