lazer motorcycle helmet sizing

All helmets are not identical, they can be classified in several categories, according to their usage. Full-face helmets, modular helmets, offroad helmets and jet helmets have their own specificities. Therefore, it is important to choose your helmet according to its future usage. In order to know your helmet size, you just have to measure the circumference of your head. The circumference of your head must be measured approximately 2 cm (+/- 1inch) above the eyebrows. In the chart hereunder, you will find the helmet size matching your head’s circumference. *Available for KITE, FALCON, OSPREY, KESTREL Make sure that your helmet size is the right one : if the helmet moves very easily on your head, it means that the helmet size is too large ; if it is too tightened, this will reduce your comfort. If a helmet is too large, it can blind you or even turn laterally while riding. After you have put your helmet on, fastened it and moved it from forward to backward, try to take it off.

If the helmet is loose on your head and if it moves, it means that the helmet size is too large and that the helmet is not properly fitted to your head morphology. It is recommended to change your helmet at least every 5 years and of course, after a fall or a serious impact. Indeed, even if your helmet does not seem to have suffered from the impact, the energy which has been absorbed may have modified the EPS shape (the inner liner in expanded polystyrene), or even the structure of the outer shell. Even if it is not visible to naked eye, those modifications can make the helmet totally inefficient. The Lazer warranty is valid for 2 year starting from the date of purchase. The quality of a fiber helmet depends on several parameters: the quality of the fibers, the quality of the resin and the stratification process which is applied. When all those parameters are optimized, a fiber helmet provides better performances than a thermoplastic helmet (in terms of protection and shock resistance).

The environment of the rider is main source of noise and whistling (wind, traffic, etc.). But the position of the rider on the motorcycle and the configuration of the motorcycle itself must be taken into count. For example, a windscreen can have an influence on the noise level inside the helmet, because it will have a great influence on the turbulences around the helmet. Basically, this turbulence area is the main source of noise inside the helmet. The spoilers (like those on our Osprey model for example) may also significantly reduce the noise inside the helmet. A good ventilation on long journeys will also inevitably generate more noise inside your helmet. Thanks to all the tests that we carry out, we can constantly improve the soundproofing parameters of our helmets. Our Lazer helmets are indeed among the best soundproofed helmets on the market. On this particular point, the legislation varies from one country to another. Therefore, we advise you to ask for information to the competent body in your own country.
