ME 888 MARATHON™ ULTRA Ultra Mileage meets METZELER Performance. Great tire all around...4 th one on my Yamaha Raider. The reason why Iam entering this is also because of the company selling the products. Quick and easy to deal with. I ordered my tire on a Saturday night and It got here on that following Tuesday. You know I love the tire for being the 4 th one I got. Sometimes finding a good company to get parts for a good price and ship it fast is hard to find. Great tire for a great price! This is my 5th one!

A set on my Aprilia Mana that performed flawlessly in week long tour of California, then a set on my Aprilia Caponord which transformed it into a sweet handling MC. Then a rear on the Caponord after I suffered a puncture. Yes they are made in China, but hey, there are a German brand that has been owned by (Italian) Pirelli since 1986. It's a global village.
motorcycle superstore distribution centerThey perform great, and due to them being a couple generations back and not made in Germany (or Italy!) are quite affordable.
motorcycle shops in brandon mb except for original tires that came with my vulcan 900, i have used nothing but metzler tires very happy with handling and wear, i have doubt that you can find a better tire.

Sean (San Diego ) Good but low mileage overall a good tire, but emphasis on grip rather than durability; would call it more sport than tour. profile is somewhat rounded and tips in predictably. grip is very good and inspires confidence when pushed in tight turns. the center wears quickly once miles and age build. got 4300 miles on this tire (on Ducati ST2).
motorcycle crash salem ma Dick Goin (Covington ) Have only a few hundred miles on the tire so it is too early for a definitive assessment of the tire, but it seems to be a good sneaker. Replacing original at 4900 miles I don't buy a lot of motorcycle tires and I'm not an aggressive rider. I bought this tire to replace the tire that came with my Triumph Bonneville T100. The original only lasted 4900 miles. I can't imagine how anyone is getting 10,000+ miles on this tire. So far it's a wonderful tire.

Compared to the Dunlop Harley Davidson tire it is a smoother more comfortable ride. I am hoping the tread is as good as I am hearing great tire from a great retailer While I haven't had many miles on this new tire, I do have considerable experience with the Metzeler line of tires and have not doubt that these will provide the grip, smooth ride, and longevity that I have come to expect from Metzeler. for reference - I am 6'5" and 260 pound and ride a Kawasaki Vulcan Nomad. I tried an 888 on the rear tire. Two months later the rubber was cracking on the treads. So I returned the tire. And Metzler paid for a new tire, but that took two months. I had already bought the new 888 tire again. Then two months later the rubber on the treads was cracking again. So...tomorrow the second tire get sent back to Metzler for a refund again. And they are installing a new Michelin Commander 2 that I purchased last week from Motorcycle Superstore. I love that store they always ship quickly and if I don't like the product they replace it next day no questions asked.

Worst tire I have ever had. Bought a whole set front and back for my Goldwing. 6 months old and I won't even ride anymore because I can't trust the tire. Horrible traction both dry and wet. Getting a new set of Dunlops today. Victory Cross Country Tour supposed to be a high mileage tire. I am very diligent to keep my tire pressure checked and only got 7400 miles out of this tire compared to 9000 on the factory Dunlop elite 3. Also felt like it would slip on in town turns. Great tire, customer tire, these tires are getting very popular. Got here quick, and a good price. The 888 that I ordered is replacing another 888 that went 12,000 miles on a Road King. The tire removed still had about 1/16" or a little less tread depth left. I have used Metzler 880's and Dunlop 402's in the past and have kept records. If the 888 last longer than the Metzler 880 it's not by much if any. The rear tires on my Softail last just about the same as on the Road King. A Dunlop 402 will last 6,000 to 6,500 miles.

A Metzler 880 or 888 will last 12,000 to 12,500 miles. That's not abusing the tire at all - no burn outs or really hard braking at every stop. Probably 80 to 90 percent of those miles are rider only - no passenger. Metzler 880's 888's and Dunlop 402's all handle and ride comparable to me - wet or dry. I'm not going to push any tire very hard on a wet road. As far as cornering - my motorcycles have pipes and floorboards that drag the ground before the tires get tested very much. Motorcycle Super Store has always delivered very quick and their prices are as good as I have found anywhere. I've bought all of my motorcycle tires from them for years. I wouldn't keep going back if their prices and service were not really good. So these tires are a little softer than I would like but they track great. I love it, everything I expected. Trustworthy high end tires I have a FXLR Harley Davidson. I have 880 up in front and 888 in the rear. Couldn't ask for better tires especially the cost of there here at Motorcycle superstore.

I shopped around for better prices and kept ending up here. I wouldn't buy any other brand , Metzer has my business for as long as there keep making tires like the 888. Always had good luck with these tires. I have run Metzler 880 for several years. I ride am 02 super glide. We will say riding style is "spirited". I was excited about the 888. I am on the second set. The ride is great except for the chicken strip. Both rear tires only made it 6600 miles, down to the cords. The I front about 9500. I would take the 880 back. I think next time I will try something new. The tire handled fine but came apart . The outer rubber came separated from the nylon cords. Two chunks of rubber and 15 cracks in the tread. Was very shock to see a tire do this. Excellent Tire but not perfect 2009 Harley Davidson Electra Glide Compared to the stock Dunlops and the Dunlop American Elite the new Metzeler ME888 the Metzeler certainly is equal to or better than both of them when it comes to Stability and both dry & wet Traction.

In the area of cornering all three are just about equal with, perhaps, a very very slight edge to the Metzeler (FYI the chicken strip is about 3/4"). Where the Metzeler trounces the other two tires is in tread life. Ijust replace the rear tire when the wear bar was just starting to be rubbed a bit. The mileage at change was close to 12.8K. I should easily get another 12.8 out of the existing front tire. If there is a downside to the ME888 it is the higher tire pressure you must run in order for them to both perform and to have decent mileage. I have found 42 in the front and 45 in the rear to be just about perfect for me. When you are close to tire changing time the ME888 does square off the rear tire which them gives you a distinctive whine/howl when you lean into the corners. I would buy them a third time but just might switch to the Michelin Commander II for a change. Specifications that may help you: Height 6'6" Weight 215. 15,000 to 20,000 miles per year. At least 2 trips per year close to 2,000 miles each, commuting, lot's of twists and turns up and down the east coast.
