Shipley became a full line Mack Trucks dealership in 1957. Throughout the 1960s Shipley also carried the Dodge HD brand of trucks and parts. In 1980, Earl Shipley became President/Owner of Shipley Motor when his father retired. In 1986, Shipley Motor opened its second dealership. The Lowell dealership in Northwest Arkansas opened its doors and Earl’s son, Carl Shipley II, was named General Manager. Shipley continued to grow and expand throughout the 80’s and 90’s under Earl Shipley’s leadership. In 1997, Earl Shipley retired as President/Owner of Shipley Motor and his son Carl Shipley II took the reign of the company. Shipley Motor continued its growth under the leadership of Carl into the turn if the millennium. After acquiring the Volvo Brand of trucks, Shipley Motor looked to expand again. In 2006, the Pottsville dealership was opened along I40 in the Arkansas River Valley.

In 2007, Shipley added the Hino line of trucks to its line of products. Today, Shipley Motor operates three dealerships in the state of Arkansas. Shipley offers a full line of Mack, Volvo, and Hino trucks, as well as a full line of parts, service, and two body shops, (Lowell and Fort Smith locations). The company has grown a lot from its early days as a trailer and parts company, but the values of its founder Carl Shipley are still very present today.
