In that issue, is a chart showing the fastest 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile times for each year of the cars tested by M/T. I happened to notice that the $3,000 '68 Dodge Dart 340 had faster acceleration than the $6,000+ '72 Porsche 911S and the $25,000+ 1974 Maserati Bora. Anyway, informative to compare the figures... 2,350 posts, read 3,474,729 times 5,883 posts, read 2,673,142 times 2,689 posts, read 6,861,483 times Originally Posted by Warszawa 70's were the smog/gas shortage years. To prove this, Consumer Reports compiled this list of vehicles that provided the best combination of fuel economy and acceleration in our tests.
Vehicles are ranked within each category based on the overall miles per gallon and 0-60-mph acceleration times they achieved in our tests. Both were weighted equally.
