Ten years ago Wolfgang was on his first tour with Himalayan Roadrunners. Many motorcycle tours with Rob in Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, Thailand and India have followed. During these trips Wolfgang was deeply moved by the generosity and heart fullness of the people he met in this part of the world. The Ride High Foundation is our chance to support and maintain the native people of the Himalayas and help where help is needed. A former career soldier with the 2nd Gurkha Rifles, Andrew served alongside Gurkha soldiers from Nepal in the British Army for seventeen years. After taking early retirement in 1993 Andrew has lived mainly in Nepal where, in addition to leading motorcycle tours, he has led jungle safaris in Nepal’s terai, run a brewery and served as counter-terrorist consultant to a multinational hydroelectricity project during Nepal’s Maoist inspired “People’s War”.

He has also run wildlife safaris in his original home in East Africa and served as a contractor to the US Department of Defense in Iraq and the US Department of State in Afghanistan. Andrew survived the earthquake of 25 April 2015 in Kathmandu and has so far survived the ongoing aftershocks. He has been actively involved in raising funds and helping the relief and reconstruction effort for the past year from his home in Kathmandu. Founder & director of Himalayan Roadrunners, Rob has been operating adventure travel tours out of Nepal for over 25 years, and divides time between Kathmandu, Northern Thailand, and an off grid solar powered hill farm in Vermont.  His love of adventure, mountains and riding vintage motorcycles led him to guiding tours throughout the Himalaya & South East Asia, including the first ascent by a motorcycle group of over the World’s Highest Road In Ladakh, India (1994), first group across the Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan (1997), first organized ride from Kathmandu to Lhasa, Tibet in 1998, and more recently, lead the first motorcycle group across notorious Shan State in Burma and back into Thailand’s Golden Triangle.
