The Horse and Groom Pub on Galleywood common to be precise. The site of Napoleonic fortifications, a 2nd world war Army camp and also the site of one of the earliest Horse Race courses in England dating back to pre 1759. The course crossed 2 main roads and only stopped in 1935 when traffic made racing difficult.
