Day 1: Arrival in Las VegasTransfer to your hotel and get some rest tonight – tomorrow some of the most amazing scenery of the American West awaits you. Upon leaving Las Vegas you cross the Colorado River at the legendary Hoover Dam. Built over a period of five years during the Great Depression, the dam is truly a modern engineering marvel and an important symbol of the American West. After the Hoover Dam the road opens up and you will enjoy wide open desert highways as you head south towards Needles, where you’ll spend the night. Day 3: Needles to Grand Canyon (247 Miles / 398 Kilometers) As you enter the famed Route 66, make a stop in Kingman and historic Oatman, a former gold-mining boomtown with its 19th-century buildings and boardwalks, considered to be the heart of the old Route 66. Continuing on the “Mother Road” you will pass old diners and deserted motels that will remind you of the glory days of this American landmark. After approaching Williams it’s time to head north towards the majestic Grand Canyon. Day 4: Grand Canyon to Monument Valley (197 Miles / 317 Kilometers) You’ll start the day by riding along the Grand Canyon’s south rim, allowing you to take in more views of the dramatic landscape.
