In 1971, a business-savvy entrepreneur saw the need for a good Harley-Davidson parts distributor in the New England area and started NEMPCO (New England Motor Parts Company). With 10 years of growth and success behind him, he brought on a veteran partner to focus on motorcycle performance and replacement parts. In 1984, to further define the company's position in the market, they began calling the company "Nempco - The Biker's Choice". Nempco caught the eye of Tucker Rocky, one of the largest distributors of motorcycle parts, and in 1992, they jumped into the Harley-Davidson accessories market by purchasing Nempco. This gave Nempco the strength of a nationwide sales and distribution system and with it, the ability to expand their product lines.
