These included Bedes Preparatory School for the Rockinghorse Appeal, Eastbourne Salvation Army, the Lions Club of Hailsham, 3 teams representing the Mayor's charities - Refuge & The Duke of Edinburgh Eastbourne Open Awards Centre, Special Olympics Eastbourne, 3rd Eastbourne Cubs, 3rd Eastbourne Boys Brigade, Friends of Demelza, Global Action, Eastbourne Voluntary Lifeguards and Fatfleshed, Money is raised from obtaining sponsorship for every length completed by each swimmer; 70% of the money raised goes to the nominated charity or cause; 30% is retained by the Eastbourne Lions Club Charitable Trust to cover any expenditure and local community appeals. Last year was a record year with over £8,700 being raised.

The Members would like to thank the swimmers, lifeguards, Sovereign Centre team, helpers and spectators, who included the Mayor Cllr Mrs Hearn, for supporting this annual event. Took part in the Sunshine Carnival and the sun shone brightly, The Shinewater Park Get on Yer Bike Challenge took place on Sunday 24th May 2015.
