motorcycle shop hendersonville tn

We will be in the Nashville area next week with our motorcycles and want to take some rides in the surrounding areas - back country, winding roads, that are in decent condition.About 100 miles is our maximum for one day. If you want some really good rides, you should go to the Great Smoky Mountains area, where there are roads like the Cherohala Skyway, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Newfound Gap Road. However, these rides are out of reach logistically. We have done those rides. We want to explore the Nahsville area now. Have you checked out Natchez Trace? Another place, you might think about is Land Between the Lakes area. Around Adams TN might be another area you would like. If you can find this book at your library or a bookstore near you or around Nashville, I would suggest "Touring the Middle Tennessee Backroads" by Robert Brandt. HWY 12 from Nashville to Clarksville is real nice. There are some real nice small towns you go threw. Ashland City is the biggest and real nice.

Part of it runs along the river. There are some famous people houses back there to. On 12 you go past one of the Mandrell ranches with horse statues and right before it you can take a left and go to Cheatham Dam area, swimming, real nice picnic areas, camp ground, the dam, etc. www.lrn.usace.army.mil/op/che/rec/index.htm When you get to the end of Hwy12 in Clarksville, if you take a left (Ashland City Rd/12/alt.41/76) just a little ways down the road is a big motor cycle store. To get to 41A or 24 you would go right at the end of 12. You could go back 41A or Hwy 24 if you want to see a diffarent route. LBL (Land Between the Lakes) is a wonderful drive but it is about 100 miles from Nashville just to get there then depending on what all you want to see there it will be 50 to a hundred plus more but worth it if you do it! If you go all the way threw LBL (about 50 miles) you will come to a beautiful small town Grand Rivers. There are many things to see there and you can get on HWY 24 to go back if you want to go faster.

2 destinations mentioned in this post RedeemByGrace: thanks, sounds like a nice ride. SmokyMtnz: I think we may have the Eastern TN guide in the series, we will have to find the middle Tn guide. Thanks for all your help. Look into the Natchez Trace... there are a lot of exits that are great to hop off and explore... definitely check out Lieper's Fork and Boston. The Loveless Cafe is also off the Natchez Trace. If you're around on a Friday night (not sure if they do it on Saturday night too) you should check out the live music and dinner at Puckett's Grocery in Lieper's Fork. One destination mentioned in this postJust saw your post...did you make it up for your ride and if so where'd you go? Wish I had seen this post before as I would have made some suggetions for my area of Mid-TN but unfortunately my husband was at Centennial Hospital having heart valve replacement surgery and then a week later a pacemaker put in. Was just a little bit crazy those 2 weeks!!

I would have suggested heading up I-65 north, exit off Hwy 25 from White House down toward Cottontown and Gallatin and then continue on 25 to Castalian Springs. Along the way you could have stopped in Gallatin for lunch and then stopped at some of the pre-Civil War homes of Trousdale Place, Rosemont, Rock Castle, Cragfont and more. Eventually you could have worked you way to Carthage and back onto I-40 and headed East toward Knoxville or back west toward Nashville. Would have been a good ride. Come visit us again!! Hope your husband is doing fine, can't imagine how scary it would be. We did do our trip and had a great time. We were actually located in Lebanon, so we rode that area. Can't remember the specific drive, but I do know we enjoyed Rt. 56, and I think it was rt. 53 going east out of Lebanon. We also went towards McMinnville and Rock Island. I will keep your area in mind for future trips. 3 destinations mentioned in this post I live in Cedar Hill, Tn,.

and we have a lot of back country, winding roads up this way. Just take I-24 west toward Clarksville and get off at the Maxey Road exit. The turn right and head towards Adams, Tn., and just turn off any road you want from there. I love going down all the roads on the left side of Maxey Road, but even the roads on the right side past the 4-way stop are very pretty also. You can then continue onto Adams and turn off any of those roads. I have traveled to all the surrounding counties around Nashville and I think you will find what you are looking for up this way in Robertson County. I am not sure when the Threshermen's Show in Adams is, it maybe this weekend or the next, but it is a real treat to stop by and visit. The only other place you may want to consider is Land Between the Lakes, Center Hill lake, or Dale Hollow lake areas, but they will be quiet a bit further out from Nashville. Hotel base: 2day visit w/family in Nolensville, indoor pool Ryman and Grand Ole Opry Nashville in 36 hours
