The auto mechanic for the dealership, at 2800 S. Federal Highway in Delray Beach, was test driving a 2002 Lexus sedan in the 2000 block of Dixie Highway on Wednesday, according to Delray Beach police.According to a police press release, witnesses told investigators the dealership employee was driving "at a high rate of speed" just before 3:30 p.m. "when he swerved to avoid another car" and lost control.The Lexus veered into the southbound lanes and into some dirt on the west side of Dixie. When the mechanic drove back onto the road, the Lexus collided with a Honda Goldwing motorcycle, police said.A Canadian couple were riding the Goldwing. They were both taken to Delray Medical Center as trauma alerts, police said.

The woman was later pronounced dead.
