The rubber compound seems softer than some tires, so they wear somewhat faster than others, but they grip well, and when your going hard into a corner, that's what you want.

So, I'll take a little faster wearing, better gripping tire every time. Very disappointed with this tire I tried everything in the book but I could not get the tire to seal! I don't know what else to do but to take it off the rim n send it back! Not sure how many people have had this issue however if you did n u had to go with another tire if appreciate someone letting me know what tire did u buy cause the Shinko 712 although was a decent price just did not want to seal on my 19" front spoke rim for my 1998 Yamaha V-Star 650 Custom Motorcycle!

Damn sticky tires for classic bikes I bought these in Nov. 2010 for my 82-Suzuki GS 1100G and did a track day with them! Now 5 years & 5000 miles later I replaced the rear because it squared of enough to feel wobbly transitioning to steep lean angles. Did not think at all about stepping up to better known brand names.
motorcycle xrm sale I can't tell the difference between these and Battlax BT45s for performance, 'cept for the money I saved!

It handles great around corners and is a nice looking tire. You guys have fast and courteous shipping. Front Tyre didn't seal. So I sent it back for Dunlop D404. Running a pair of these Shinko's on a Yamaha XS650 standard. Took it down to to the Ozarks for a rally 500 miles of sporty riding wet and dry. Have mounted and ridden at least 10 shinkos so far. One has put 5K miles on the rear of a K1200LT, which abuses it's rear tire just sitting! OEM tire meets all expectations. I bought a set for my '80 Yamaha XS650 SG. Wet or dry it sticks to the road. It does tend to follow grooves though. I ride this bike like a sportbike with deap leans in corners and they hold well. GREAT PRICE, GREAT TIRE Shinko tires are right up there with the best of them!!! Great ride, great traction, would buy them over the costly name brands anytime!!!! Best bang for buck I ride 2 up mostly, with some gear, and compared to some popular brands, Shinko tires have proven to me to be superior.

I own a vintage Goldwing and BMW rt1150, both with Shinko's. I'm going towards my 2nd set and with no reason for considering anything else. My loyalty stays with Shinko's loyalty to its customer for providing both quality and low price SHINKO 712 Excellent Tire & Price Purchased the 712 front and then the 712 rear for a 1982 xv750 Virago that I am restoring. Get yourself some tire spoons and have both on in about 10 minutes.Got 9,000 miles out of it with some very hard riding before cupping bad. I build numerous bikes and use these tires because they work so well on every bike. Great front tire for vintage Norton Replaced the cracked Dunlop K81 4.10-19 front tire on my '75 Norton Commando with this 100/90-19 Shinko 712. Despite the low price this "front only" Shinko is far superior for front duty than the universal front or rear 4.10-19 K81. Superior handling, smoother ride and in balance vibration and wobble free at all speeds. I measured the actual width at 3.75".
