The 190S is likely to prove hugely tempting to collectors looking to restore a glorious piece of luxury motoring heritage. This car was purchased as a restoration project in the mid 1970s, but very little work was carried out before it was put into dry storage, where it has remained untouched for around 40 years. The engine has been started every so often, and it is said to start and run well, and the car will actually drive. It offers an enormously rewarding project for the serious collector (£37,000-£45,000). Further examples of high quality German engineering can be found in the 2003 Porsche 911 Turbo (£33,000-£40,000), 1992 Porsche 968 Cabriolet (£15,000-£18,000) and several more Mercedes, including a lovely 2003 SL 350 (£13,000-£16,000) Italian sporting style and charisma abounds with the 1972 and 1996 Alfa Romeo Spiders (£12,000-£14,000 and £3,000-£4,000 respectively), while the 1972 Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000 is a really fine example of a rare machine. It has been part of a private collection in Italy for the last 25 years, kept in a heated, dry garage (£8,000-£10,000).

The Italian theme continues with the charming 1977 AutoBianchi Giardinetta. Essentially an estate version of the Fiat 500, this little car has rarely been used in the past 30 years and the interior is in fantastic original condition. The rear seats fold down, so the car also offers great potential as a head-turning small van to promote a business (£6,000-£7,000). British sporting cars are also well represented, from the 1998 Aston Martin DB7 Volante (£23,000-£27,000) and 2000 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage (£19,000-£22,000), a pair of 1973 Triumph TR6s and two beautiful XKR Jaguars to a superb 1937 MG TA which has covered just 2000 miles since undergoing a full nut and bolt restoration some 20 years ago (23,000-£30,000). The sale also includes three cars which would make ideal family classics. The 1953 Ford Prefect E493A is in need of just a little TLC to bring it up to top condition (£3,000-£3,500), while the highly original 1956 Vauxhall Cresta E is believed to have been part of the British embassy fleet of vehicles in Paris, and has been stored unused for the past quarter century.
