INTERNATIONAL DIRT BIKE SHOW The International Dirt Bike Show is the premier indoor off-road event on the calendar and will welcome thousands of riders and enthusiasts looking to stock up on kit and accessories across its four-day running at Warwickshire’s NAEC Stoneleigh at Stoneleigh Park. For this being our first year we had some fantastic response and leads that need sorting out. The S range has a brand new (and unique to Haibike) Yamaha drive system.  When they launched the S range for the 2015 season they introduced it as the "E bike for the Apple generation".  

E bikers are getting younger and younger - cars are expensive and relatively damaging to the environment.  The 25-35 generation is acutely aware of these 2 factors and are choosing to use e-bikes for commuting as well as leisure.  The design and quality of the S range renders them relaible and desireable.  The Yamaha motor was developed to reflect their corporate ethos.  The Chairman of Yamaha europe (a slightly smaller yet equally deranged version of Jeremy Clarkson) told us at the S range launch in Schweinfurt that the product Yamaha are most proud of in their entire range (from saxophones to FSIEs) is the R1 motorcycle ....why ?  "Speed, speed, speed !  This is refelcted in their e-bike system.  The motor delivers more torque at the rear wheel than Bosch and offers the quite remarkable "zero cadence" feature that delivers the power instantaneously. From 2016 Bosch have been using their CX motor and 500 watt hour battery.  The CX motor now has 75nm of torque at the rear wheel...you will notice the difference bewteen this and other motor.

For 2017 Haibike have adopted a numbered model system, rather than a lettered system to denote different models within the different ranges.  The higher the number, the higher the specification. The ALL MTN geometry has been revised to give longer head tubes and slacker head angles. Some of the higher specced Yamaha motored bikes will come with the new PW-X motors.  400grammes lighter, 13% smaller and spinning all the way to 120rpm these new motors are optimised for weight reduction and rapid acceleration up to top speed.  They do feel more responsive even than the normal PW system. The PW-X is available on the Sduro FullSeven / FullNine 8 and 7. One of the big trends for 2017 is the proliferation of 27.5+ tyres.  Halfway between a standard 27.5 / 2.35 MTB tyre and the full on Fat tyre at 3.5-4 inches, the + sizes allow everyone to explore more extreme off road environments, safe in the knowledge that the + tyres offer more grip and better steering.
