ZFi ControllerAt the time, the installation manual that came with the unit and the one available on the website were lacking some necessary information for DIY like myself to complete the installation w/o having to call Bazzaz's tech support. Thankfully, Bazzaz's tech support were very helpful and very easy to access over the phone. I recently downloaded the updated manuals and I see that they have added more pictures and information. They also have video instructions available on Youtube.The wiring harness was very good quality, almost on par with the OEM. The best thing is, it's great that Bazzaz provided OEM style connector to the TPS, which is normally very difficult to access, unlike the wire tap that comes with DJPC. In contrast, Bazzaz provides wire tap for powering the ZFi controller, which is much easier to find and access power source wires. I only wished they labeled all the wires in the wiring harness for ease of identification.The hardest part during the installation process on my GSXR600K8 was removing the primary injector connectors due to very tight access.
Thankfully, the TPS connector can be easily accessed from the right side of the bike and easily removed with a flat head screwdriver. Otherwise, installation was pretty easy and straight forward.Unfortunately, mine came down with an FI alert on injector #3 within 1 yr of use. Bazzaz Tech advised me with my troubleshooting. But when the alert kept going, Thanks to Bazzaz because because they came through with their warranty. They tested the defective ZFi unit and the wiring harness and sent me a new replacement ZFi controller and software within 2 business days. I've installed this unit three times with out any problems on three different gsxr 1000's. I do recommend finding a dyno that will tune a bazzaz system. The stock maps are just a guide. Every bike is a little different. This system runs great on my 2007 gsxr 1000 with the stock base map. I have the gp1 pipes. and a k&n air filter. I do need a little tuning. But otherwise its fine out of the box. Probably better then the PC in that it can control all 8 injectors.
