Davidson Product Development Center (PDC), this 370,000 square-foot facility opened its doors for operation in March 1997.

The PDC was built to bring together the Original Equipment (OE) Engineering, Styling and Developmental Purchasing groups in a centralized location to improve the product development process. The functions represented within the PDC include Styling, Engineering, Finance, Information Services, Product Liability, Purchasing, Marketing, Homologation, Sales, Service and key suppliers. The employees located at the PDC are responsible for new product development, testing, styling and developmental purchasing. The PDC is built on land purchased by Harley-Davidson 50 years ago. This land was used as a snowmobile test track and you can still see some of the original tracks through the woods. Tomahawk Operations now consists of two facilities—192,000 square feet on 96 acres. Cosmetic components are produced using an injection molding process and are later painted. Employees also produce windshields for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and parts produced for sale through the Harley-Davidson® Genuine Motor Parts and Accessories business. Congress, Kansas City, MO 64153 Service/Function: Assembles all Dyna, Sportsters, VRSC and Street family motorcycles; produces powertrains for V-Rod and Street motorcycles. Established as an assembly facility in 1973, Harley-Davidson's York Vehicle Operations makes more than 60 percent of the company’s motorcycles. The York facility covers more than 171 acres and has over 600 thousand square feet under roof. Employees work around the clock assembling Touring, Trike and Softail® models, as well as limited production, factory-custom motorcycles.
