Top Benefits of MTC Personal income taxpayers can schedule and make payments, send and receive secure e-messages, allow account access for a tax professional, and review notices or other communications from DOR on MassTaxConnect.It is not mandatory to register for MassTaxConnect except for some activities like allowing access to your account for your tax professional. Most individual taxpayers will not notice any changes to their tax filing practices unless they filed income tax returns using WebFile for Income.

Although personal income tax returns cannot be filed through MassTaxConnect, most WebFile for Income users will qualify for free filing options. Tax Types Available in MassTaxConnect If you were a WebFile for Income user, your username and password will be the same when you sign on to MassTaxConnect as of December 5. If you were a WebFile for Business user, your username and password has been carried over to MassTaxConnect. Simply log in to MassTaxConnect using your current information.The first time you log on, you will be asked for an authentication code as an additional security measure.

Request the code in the pop-up window, enter it on the login page, and click “trust this computer” and that’s the last time you’ll do that for that computer.If you weren’t a WebFile for Income user, registering will be simple and quick through MassTaxConnect as of December 5. No need to register to pay a bill.If you weren't a WebFile for Business user, you have two options to log in to MassTaxConnect. Use your Taxpayer Credentials and "sign up" your business by simply providing a few pieces of information from a prior return like taxes owed or the amount of a refund. Vehicles Transferred from Family Members You are exempt from paying sales tax on a vehicle transferred from any of the following family members: father, mother, brother, sister, husband, wife, son, or daughter.

ladies bling motorcycle helmet Vehicles Transferred as a Gift You may be exempt from paying sales tax on a vehicle transferred to you as a gift from another person. The person transferring the vehicle must have satisfied the tax laws of the state where the vehicle was registered and/or titled.

In addition to the title and registration fees, a $25 fee will be collected at the time the vehicle is titled/registered. A Sales Tax Exemption form (MVU-24) will need to be completed by the person gifting the vehicle. To Obtain a Registration and Title, you will need to submit the following in person at any RMV Full Service Center: An Application for Registration & Title (RMV-1 Form) completed and signed by the owner, stamped by your insurance company Previous owner's Certificate of Title assigned to the new owner, or the previous registration and the bill of sale (for vehicles that are exempt from title because of their age) Registration fee (fees vary by plate type, refer to the Fee Chart) Sales tax exemption form (Family MVU-26 or Gift MVU-24) completed and signed by previous owner. $25.00 gift fee, if applicable If presenting the previous owner's title, be sure the date transferred, odometer reading and the purchase price (GIFT if the vehicle was given to you), have been completed on the back.
