My only criticism is that it is time consuming to zip the liner in or out. But I'm very pleased with my purchase. You can't beat the $59 dollar price. I think this jacket would be a bargain at twice the price. It seems to be well constructed, has many features one would not expect on a jacket of this price, and it's very comfortable. Got this as a Christmas present so have not had the chance to ride with it yet (20 deg. outside). Appears to be a well made summer jacket with lots of ventilation.
As the summer heat come on I will try to give another review. Shipping was fast as usual. I think that this jacket is an EXCELLENT bargain ($60 12/16). I would have to spend almost double what I paid to get a similarly featured jacket. I am about 5'10" 150lb and I have a size M. For me, a medium is the perfect balance. There's still enough space for me to wear a hoodie with the waterproof liner in cold weather (low 50's) and doesn't look too baggy if it's hot and I wear the shell only. Wearing it without the liner lets in a ton of airflow. There are not any rear vents in so it does kind of "inflate" when riding at speed or at least it feels like it does. The shape is pretty boxy and unfitted but I make use of the forearm snaps and waist adjustment straps to get a better fit. I think the only thing going against this jacket is the fit but pros totally outweigh this lone con. All the buttons, zippers, and snaps seem to be pretty good too. In terms of protection, I feel pretty safe.
I don't plan on upgrading the back non-CE pad but the elbow and shoulder CE armor is very solid. Maybe to some, too solid. It's very thick and non-conforming. Not a problem for me but possibly a problem for others. I think that this jacket would be great as a first jacket. It's (very) cheap and allows a first time rider to get used to riding instead of worrying about looking badass. Also, you won't feel like a dummy who wasted a bunch of cash on your first jacket when you decide to upgrade in a month or two or ten. Bought for warmer weather Given it is the middle of the winter and the streets are snow-covered I can only offer my impressions of this jacket. I'm 5'11", 160 and the Medium fits perfect. Features and fit & finish seem good. The hand-warmer pockets zip down to close, which is counter-productive if you want things to stay in and pockets aren't fully zipped. Looking to use this for spring, summer, and fall rides. I like that the liner can zip in and out. Likely will use it w/o the liner unless caught in the rain.
Bought this on sale and was surprised at all the features it has. Zip out liner, pockets everywhere! I got the hiviz yellow for safety sake. Durability is yet to be seen, but it looks well made. Fit is about par. I'm 6' and wear 16 x 34 shirt. a large fits me perfectly if I don't wear anything thick under it. For winter riding, I would recommend one size larger than you normally wear. I bought this as a gift and because it's winter he hasn't worn it to test it's full potential but he likes it so far! And shipping was crazy fast! Great jacket even if if I hadn't gotten it at close out price. Very well constructed and fit is excellent. I am 5'11" 190# and went with the XL which is a great fit with a little room if indeed to wear a lite layer underneath for cooler weather. Like it so much got the wife a matching jacket. Not sure about durability but time will tell. (St. Augustine , FL) Have not used it yet, too cold. It fits and feels good to wear. I will find out more I use it in the spring.
Moto centric squadron jacket Great deal on a good jacket Hard to beat this jacket...Especially at the closeout price! I am 5'10'' @ 185 lbs and the large fits me perfectly. Shoulder/elbow armor is good quality and is positioned well, hardly notice it when riding. Very confident it will do its job in an off. Back protector is a little thick and stiff, but is upgradeable and better than none at all. Features, build quality, and style are excellent! A friend bought one for his wife after seeing mine, she loves it too. I went with the Hi-Vis version, and it is definitely all that. I highly recommend this jacket! Had been looking for something safe to wear during the Summer. When I saw the 50%-off for these features, I jumped. The first one was stolen from the U P S system. A call to customer service got another on the way. When it got here, I had the chance to ride in about 50-degree weather, & it works out very well. Can't wait to try it out in the warm weather!
The hi-viz yellow shows up well, the construction seems top-notch & the whole garment is well thought out. The large fits well...order one size larger than you think you'll need. The previous reviews gave me a clue! Can't beat it on a special! Just got my squadron jacket, it has to go back,to small, I am 6'1,about 205 pounds and it was to snug. Seems like a nice jacket though. In regards to my build, at 205 pounds I am not overly large, what it boils down to is skinny legs and larger upper body. One other guy commented it was perfect for him, he was about my size, so at any rate, great price. Just go one or two sizes bigger than normal. P.S.the back pad is very annoying! wearing it as my fall jacket So, I put off buying a mesh jacket until October, and now I'm wearing it with the liner in as my cold weather jacket! It actually does OK in 0*C / 30*F weather for commutes under an hour. Makes me wonder if it will actually be cool in the summer since it really is working as a cool-season, dry-weather jacket!
