An anonymous reader asks: "We've recently had yet another office re-organization, which is not so bad in itself, but the noise level has increased significantly due to the type of furniture as well as job functions of those whom I share the office with. The first thing I think I'm going to do is to get a pair of noise canceling headphones, but before I spend hundreds of dollars I'd like to hear some opinions or alternatives. Two of the ones that look neat are the Extreme Isolation Headphones and Plane Quiet Headphones. What have others done to cope with noise level?" Mostly happy with product We received the product and it may have already been opened or was a return as there were parts missing. Customer service was able to send us some of the parts but not all of them. We kept the product because it was functional and already mounted in the helmets.

We were going on a trip and wanted to use them. For technologically challenged people, we struggle getting our phones paired. Other than that we like being able to talk to each other. We will practice the other functions. The range is better than I thought it would be, which is a pleasant surprise. The sound quality is very good and loud enough to hear over the rumbling of my Harley. When I speak to people on the phone that can't believe I'm on my bike. It really eliminates the back ground noise. Would highly recommend this product. Great product fairly easy setup. When you order pay attention to the standard microphone vs. the universal mount microphone kit. The universal requires you to mount the microphone to the helmet and is not attached to the base unit. On a full face helmet I think it is an advantage. On a 3/4 I think the standard unit would be best. Have not used yet, going on a trip tomorrow. So far, based on at home test, works well! SMH-10 Bluetooth Headset and Intercom

After getting my new Bell Qualifier DLX helmet I decided I wanted a Bluetooth headset. The Sena SMH10 was advertised as integrating well with my helmet, so I ordered it. When I got it, I couldn't make it fit.
motorcycle spark plug floodedAfter checking the problem out online, I discovered I needed to buy a different helmet clamp for an extra $32.
motorcycle repair grapevine tx(The web page for the SMH10 makes no mention of this for my helmet.)
used motorcycle dealers in woodbridge vaI went to order the new clamp and found out it was unavailable anywhere for another month. I finally got it and the headset is installed but I have yet to figure out how to make it work. The instructions are very vague and the controls are not very intuitive.

Just a bad experience all around.Used for a couple enduro races and worked great. Bought them for my wife and I while riding together. Then got one for my son. Then got one for my other son. All four can talk together on the intercom channel which is very clear. The range is good while riding together, but we have tested the range a few times, and they are excellent up to a 1/4 mile, but then get sketchy beyond that. All in all I am very satisfied with these. The install is simple. SMH 10s good under 30 We bought the units with the mic on the clamp mount, works great for comms under 30, over 30 forget it. Not sure if the othe mic mounts sound better but sent ours back after a week of trying everything to get them to work. Had old SMH5's that work great and went back to them.... I bought the headset in July, and we are very happy with the dual headset. Have only used the intercom between bikes and love it!! We do get a little wind noise, when you turn the volume down you can still hear very well, range is great.

Just purchased a set for our friends. Decent device needs better sound Quality, better volume Works well, with wind noise from helmet it needs more volume. I bought a dual pack for my son and myself. During set up the volume acted a bit squirly but once we intercommed it settled down. We have been on a dozen rides and they have been fantastic. We have good reception for a bit over 1/4 mile bike to bike. Close to 1/2 and we dropped. For what we use it for, it is fantastic. We already have several other riders buying sets. Bought this about a month ago to replace a cheaper unit I bought last year. The SNH10 was simple and easy to install in my modular helmet. Love being able to connect to my phone and listen to music or gps on the go. As others have mentioned this isn't your home stereo but it has more than enough volume to be heard. Controls are easy to use even with gloves on once you learn the button and jog dial combinations. Product doesn't work in windy conditions.
