OVER 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE!!Show All ItemsWhether you're a new or experienced rider, chances are you're going to have a smelly/dirty helmet after all the motorcycle riding you've done. A lotta people ask how to clean lids inside and out, and although there are a lotta different methods and suggestions, I've compiled the most effective ways to do so. (Plus there wasn't a how to on this anyway, so I hope it helps)If you own a helmet with a removable interior lining, then you pretty much have it made. You remove the lining and/or the cheekpads and throw them in the laundry machine at delicate cycle, while that is washing, you can clean the outside of the helmet with a soft cloth/towel/micro fiber and mild detergent. Moisten the soft cloth/towel/micro fiber, put a few drops of mild detergent on it, and wipe the shell gently, the detergent will do it's job with the grime/dirt/etc and after you're done, you simply wipe off with water until the detergent is gone.
You'll be left with a shiny clean OIL FREE shell.BUT for those of us with helmets that do NOT have a removable liner.. the job is a little trickier. Skin oil and sweat builds up and all the "spray cleaners" just don't quite cut it. I've tried helmet fresh and all it did was make it smell better, and I've tried Motorex Helmet Care Spray, which yielded same results, all fragrance, minimal cleaning effect (on the lining).Follow these steps if your helmet doesn't have a removable liner and smells like poop.Step 1: Show All Items« PreviousNext »View All Steps DownloadAfter just putting up 100 of my favorite airbrushed helmets by Airgraffix, I noticed that there are a LOT of really cool spiderman style motorcycle helmet designs.Who knew that there are some many spiderman fans out there? Not me until recently. So of course, I went ahead and collect some of my favorites and got to sharing them. and tell him I sent you 🙂 I've had this helmet for a year. The adjustment feature is great.
I didn't think it would be work as advertised, but I was wrong. This helmet is comfortable in both warm and cool weather riding due to the removable neck lining. motorcycle repair sunnyvaleThe only issue I have is that the visor comes down too low for me, so I use sun glasses more often than not. bcbg motorcycle jacketI still use this helmet more often than my others.ktm motorcycle dealers in oklahoma Bell Pit Boss Helmetmotorcycle shop in rosemead Helmet is OK even though it does seem a little cheaply made. motorcycle rental in oahu
Styrofoam inside does seem a little hard on my head. The drop down visor is ok, but doesn't really keep the wind/debris out of your eyes. For the price in my opinion this is just an ok helmet. motorcycle shops rio grande valleyI'd suggest looking at other helmets first.motorcycle clothing stores mississauga This is a great helmet. The fit is very good with the adjustable back and it does not move at high speeds. The only drawback is that the retractable visor does not really block the wind. I still need to wear goggles underneath. However, when wearing clear goggles, the tint on the visor works great when riding into the sun. (East Hampton , CT) I have owned many helmets over my 40 years of riding motorcycles and this helmet is definitely in my top 2 choices. The fit is excellent because of the the adjustable headband.
The built in visor is also a welcome feature. The overall weight of the helmet is comparable to other 1/2 helmets. The only two things I would like to see added are: 1. it would be nice if the helmet had vents, it gets warm in the heat, 2. a quick lock/release chin strap would be nice, similar to my Nolan helmet. I would definitely purchase this helmet again. From a Lady's Perspective I've been needing and looking for several years for a plain, white helmet that is comfortable. I will admit that this helmet is quite comfortable. Even my husband said that it looked good, or "Cute!" were his actual words! The two things that I don't like about this helmet is that the inner visor shield won't go over my prescription eyeglasses. My glasses are not large frames, either. The other thing that I really don't like, and the picture does NOT show this, is the large (ugly!) Bell logo on the front. (If I wanted to advertise a helmet, it wouldn't have been a Bell model ...) Like I wrote above, I really wanted a PLAIN white helmet.
So, this helmet does its job, but I feel jaded by the mis-advertisement, both with the visor and the front logo. I have to say this is the best helmet I have ever worn. Fits like a glove and very wearable. So, this is a great helmet. I was a little wary after reading all the reviews about people whose shield was distorted, who got a headache wearing it, etc... I needed a helmet, though, and was tired of trying some of the other "brand names" and being disappointed. It's Bell for god's sake. I gave it a try. First, my smoked shield was very distorted too!! Couldn't see well except for direct center. Then after about a week, I decided I should clean it after getting caught in the rain. I pulled it down (the first time without it being on my head) and discovered a protective static film covering the front of the shield, assumable so it doesn't get scratched during build/shipping. I pulled it off, and, wonder of wonders, I could see clearly through all parts of the shield and at all angles!
It fits over some of my shades, but not over others. It just depends how far the glasses stick out from your face. It's close enough that I can just use the shield at 70 mph with no other eye wear, and be fine for a ride on the interstate. The adjustable head strap in the back is great too. I used to have a problem with my helmet sliding toward the back of my head at highway speeds. This adjuster fixes that issue. No two heads are the same. Yes this helmet gave me a bit of a headache if I wore it more than 15-20 minutes the first few times, but eventually, it breaks in, like a pair of leather shoes, and conforms to your head shape (or my head conformed to the helmet shape, I don't know. Either way, I can ride for hours now with no issue). Great Helmet - visor too closeI like the longer bell sun shade. The adjustable circumference lets the helmet sit lower on my head. However, my problem is with the drop down sun visor. It is a dark smoke which is what I wanted, but the drop down hits my glasses so I cant use it.
Looking at pictures of this and the Scorpion 110, the drop down on the Bell is on a closer radius to the center than the Scorpion. My wife's earlier model scorpion drop down works perfectly and doesn't come too close to my glasses. I ether need a greater radius drop down or a pug face. Had to send it back. The MCSuper store is great about that. (I tried a 3/4 helmet with a drop down which worked ok but the fuller face felt too confining. They uncomplainingly took that back too.) I will continue to buy from MCS because of their return policy. This helmet turned out to be everything I had hoped for and more. Excellent fit, Excellent construction, Comfortable, great visor. I looked at some of the less expensive helmets for a few days and decided my head was worth the extra few bucks. And boy am I glad I bought it. For the price differential it's a no brainier. This is the best fitting helmet l every had with the adjustment in the back let my wife try it and l had to buy another one.
First comment is that the ordering, shipping and receiving process for Motorcycle Superstore is superb especially for Hawaii customers. The Pit Boss helmet arrived, packaged well and on time. The helmet is very comfortable, a perfect fit and the padding inside and ear liners provide a quiet ride with no wind noise. The rear adjustment was opened all the way and also makes it a perfect fit. the only feature for which I really wanted was the flip down visor. It works well but rubs against the side of my nose. I will try a little precision sanding to widen the aperture and hopefully this will allow the lens to slide over my glasses and not rest on my nose. The measurement process information was very helpful. My riding buddy is ordering a Pit Boss today. At last a company that designed their own mold for helmet fit. Firstly, It is extremely hard for me to find a helmet that fits without looking goofy. This Pitt Boss solves my issues with helmet fit. You can even fine tune the fit with the wheel adjuster at the back of the helmet.
Very stable feel riding the freeway. I could go on and on about every little thing that makes this helmet not your average helmet. But I think I just did. Love everything about the Pitt Boss helmet by Bell. Bell has been known for quality. The reason we chose these helmets. Problem: paint coming off. Round spots, small about 1/4" circles. Had our 2 previous helmets for 10 years and replaced simply due to age. Both looked very good, despite an average 12,000 miles per year. Paint or "coating" on Pit Boss, looks like it is simply a plastic coating that has not bonded. I love this helmet I'm so glad I read the reviews and compared products before deciding on this one. I have a half helmet in black but I wanted something safer and more comfy for my longer rides. (about 6 hours a day of steady riding.) This helmet is comfortable on, especially since I can adjust the fit. I really like the drop down sun shade, that's what really sold me. Not as much wind gets in with it down and it saves me from having to wear sunglasses like I have to with the half helmet.
