Obviously, if you aren't already interested in Indian and its history, this book isn't for you. But for those of us carrying a little fanboyism for the brand, it's an interesting read and I recommend it.

Thus, it ends on a rather sad note for the Indian Motorcycle and its future, with Harley-Davidson triumphant and enduring. The present volume, published in 2016, is more comprehensive in many ways than that other book, especially as it includes the newest incarnation of the Indian brand in 2014.

For those of us who have been in love with Indian Motorcycles for many years, this book offers a delicious feast of the history and beauty of Indian motorcycles, including a bit of the history leading up to 1901 and George Hendee's first production motorized bicycles. Often such books are labors of love but not necessarily fluent literary works. In this case, however, the text is well written and orderly. The images are generally excellent, and even most of the old photos are well rendered.Whole books could be published on each phase of Indian Motorcycle history, including its most recent Polaris resurgence. The author of this book has done an excellent job of covering the most important periods and the evolution of this iconic American motorcycle, and gives ample attention to its resurrection around 2011. Of course, we can't understand the Polars/Indian story without a little understanding the other Polaris incursion into the motorcycle industry with the Victory V92C beginning around 1997.Read more ›
