In order to apply for a motorcycle license or endorsement, you must be at least 13 years of age. If you are at least 13 but less than 15 years of age, you may apply for a motorcycle license after completion of a Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) Basic Rider Course (BRC) offered by the New Mexico Motorcycle Safety Program. If you are at least 15 but less than 18 years of age, you may apply for a motorcycle license or add a motorcycle endorsement to your instructional permit, provisional license, or full-unrestricted license after completion of an MSF BRC. Motorcycle license and endorsement information In order to apply for a New Mexico CDL, you must have a valid New Mexico driver license, pass a written test, hold a CDL learner’s permit for at least 14 days, and pass a road test. There are 25 questions on the test. How many questions must you get right? You must answer at least 18 questions correctly in order to pass. If you fail when can you retake the test? You can retake the test again in 1 day. How many times can you retake the test? There is no limit on the number of times you can retake the written test. Who has to take the written test? Teens of what ages? Anyone who is getting their driver’s license for the first time must pass the written test.

Yes, you are required to pass a practical on-road motorcycle skill test in order to get your motorcycle license. Are there any other state specific age requirements or restrictions for motorcycles? All riders under the age of 18 then you are required to complete the Basic Rider Course offered by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) before you can get a motorcycle license or endorsement.

Any operator or passenger of a motorcycle who is under 18 is required to wear a protective helmet meeting state-approved safety standards at all times while operating or riding on the motorcycle.
