After spending the last two months working to try and make our business plan sustainable for the long term the truth has hit us about as hard as it can. I'll spare you all the exhausting details, and break it down in the simplest of terms that we can all understand.

The aftermarket motorcycle industry has changed, a clear sign that where so many shops existed before we are one of the last Harley-Davidson after market shops ar...ound here, with the exception to a scant few small one man garage shops. We have built an extremely successful business that no matter what will remain unprofitable. In order to just barely scratch out a living we would have to either push our labor rates up to $190.00 per hour or pay ourselves minimum wage. Well as I'm sure you know the Mid-Willamette Valley is not ready to pay that kind of a labor rate, nor is it possible to really sustain a family on minimum wage, hats off to those of you that do. With this stark reality clearly in view we have decided that it is time to stop trying to make this endeavor work. There was a time where working harder and sacrificing more would eventually bring about success. We still believe in that ethic, unfortunately this particular industry is one of the few that requires in our opinion an unrealistic sacrifice or unrealistic capital.

Regardless we can no longer provide either. 7th Gear will be closing for good on 2/28/17. During this time we will not be taking in any new business. We will be wrapping up multiple projects that are currently already in process.
