Seguin had convictions for breaking and entering, theft, drug possession and assault on a police officer.Canadian authorities said Seguin walked into the clubhouse of the rival gang, spoke with the six men for several minutes and opened fire with a 9 mm. machine gun. When the machine gun ran out of ammunition, he stabbed several of the victims and fled, they said.Steger police found a similar machine gun, four handguns, a large quantity of marijuana and smaller amount of cocaine in the home. They also found an Illinois driver`s license in the name of George J. Barr told police that Seguin grabbed him from behind as he walked to work about 6:45 a.m. Saturday. Seguin dragged him into Seguin`s house, robbed him of $100 and taped his hands and mouth shut with masking tape, police said.``Throughout the day, (Seguin) tried to work out some kind of arrangement to rob the U-Save station,`` Tieri said.Said Templin: ``Will told me that the guy was doing so many drugs he didn`t make sense. He said they even played poker for a while. Will won, he got out of there with his life. Police surrounded Seguin`s home, and he opened fire from inside. After a 20-minute gun battle, Seguin stopped firing and police found him lying with a chest wound in a bedroom of the home. Seguin was pronounced dead in St. James Hospital in Steger at 6:06 p.m. Saturday.Barr was reportedly fulfilling his duties as president of the Steger Little League Association Tuesday evening and unavailable for comment.``He needs time to regroup,`` said his employer.
