I just got back from a 3 day trip to the Smoky Mountains where it was the only helmet I used. The slide down internal visor constantly contacts my nose. I used a Dremel to open up the nose on it, but the helmet, even though it fits very tightly, constantly slides for and aft on my head, allowing the visor to hit my nose again. I trimmed it up some more, and it seems okay now. I've had 2 other HJC helmets with the internal visor, and they all did the same thing.this is the first helmet I've ever had I could actually feel the air come in and flow over my head. As others have said, it fits TIGHT. Until it gets broken in, it's almost too tight. I have large, high cheekbones, and I have to really pull the sides out to get it on and off.
Sometimes I feel like it's going to tear my ears off in the process. But once on, it's like a part of me. The outer visor is stiffer than many cheaper helmets, but still flops and makes cracking sounds when up. I also got a lot of wind noise with it down, more than I'm accustomed to with a helmet, but none of the popping and buffeting I've had with others. Overall, it's an ok helmet, but at this price it's getting into a higher priced and better quality range. I'm happy with it, but I'm kind of wishing I had spent $50 or $100 more and gotten a better quality helmet. On my first ride which was 225 miles it felt like my head was in a vise. I read the product manual before I sent it back and I am glad I did. The fit was correct but the helmet had to conform to my head by wearing it. Much like a good pair of shoes the fit is seldom perfect until you break them in. I love the visibility and protection that the face shield provides. I bought the white helmet. It looks good and the color is cooler.
I will be ordering one for my wife soon. I got the High Vis and I like everything about this helmet. motorcycle tire changer san joseGot to try it out in the rain on maiden voyage and it did everything I wanted it to. motorcycles for sale in phnom penhI use a Harley communication system and that fits extremely well in and on the helmet. used 125 motorcycles for sale in karachiHave received many comments on the visibility and looks of the helmet. dirt bikes for sale in oakland caVisor shuts tight and any wind noise comes from the venting but it really cools your head as the wind flows throughmotorbike shop epping
HJC FG Jet Helmet I usually do not wear a helmet in AZ, but on colder days and long rides I wear one, this one is as comfortable as a helmet can be, I luckily havent had to test it out as far as durability, but I am sure it will do the job.motorcycle disc brake stuck I just bought my girlfried the same helmet and she seems to like it, we put the communications into the helmet, so we can talk back and forthmotorcycle for sale easton pa I love the Helmet over all. The size definitely runs small. I bought the xxl and it is very snug. My other HJC run small but and I bought the largest size - same as other HJC but this one the smaller than the other and tight getting on but OK. Is noiser than the other but I guess due to the AIR vents ventilation which is nice. Just wish the HJC sizes was more accurate with size charts.
FG JetPretty Good- but IS-33 better value/design! I have had the FG jet for 3 years and the HJC IS-33 for 5. CONS: 1. Fits a lot tighter at first. 2. Sun shield visor doesn't snap back up quickly like the IS-33. 3. The air vent button on top rattles! PROS: 1. slightly better shield coverage on chin. 2. decent venting and comfort. 3. nicer looking design. They went cheaper on this more expensive helmet! None of the shields, liners, etc are cross compatible between two helmets. Winner is HJC IS-33! Save a few bucks too. great fit, love the color, noise? My local store only had FG-Jet in Large, but I tried on HJC IS-33 in Medium. FG-Jet Medium fits me great. Love the sunshade, I wear eyeglasses, nothing hits my face or glasses. Better cut around the cheeks- snug and more protective than the IS-33. Love the "double-takes" I get wearing Hi-Viz yellow, drivers SEE me! Other reviewers commented on the noise, I don't notice any air flow noise, but I only go up to 55 mph on my scooter.
Newbie and not quite comfortable faster than that yet! I went from an open face helmet to this one. I wear a 7 1/2 hat and the xlarge size fits me perfectly. The venting is good, but I've only tried it during winter/spring days. I imagine it's going to be hot during the summer (what isn't?). The helmet is pretty quiet and the outer visor goes all the way down to the bottom of my chin, which will keep the wind/bugs off my face. The visibility out of this helmet is incredible. I thought it would block some of my peripheral view, but it doesn't. The helmet is great overall, but order one size larger than you normally wear! I was told the sizing would be the same compared to a full face helmet but it is NOT. Had to return it and pay for shipping just to size up one. Confirmed on ordering one size up. Two other fitment quirks I've found: 1) The sides run long and noticeably extend past your cheekbones close to your neck. Feels a bit weird at first so it takes some getting used to.
2) The sun visor is sweet but angles in very close to your nose / face. If the tip of your nose isn't flat the visor will rub against it when lowered. Overall a decent helmet but it does have some fitment quirks that take away from the value a bit. Ride safe, ride hard, ride often! Not What I expected My other HJC same style was a large so I ordered a Large it was tight at first but has settled in and is good. The face shield is about an inch and a half lower and will be nice for those cooler days. The issue that I have is wind noise it is just terrible if you are riding on a windy day the noise is deafening so bad you will have to wear ear plugs. On a non windy day the noise is very high also if you lift the shield the noise goes away. Great value for an inexpensive fiberglass helmet I have found the HJC to be comfortable and fairly quiet for a 3/4 helmet. The clear outer shield fits snugly to the helmet and I have not noticed any excessive noise coming from it.
