Anytime I move to a new town I always try to find an "old school" shop for my Harley work. Very knowledgable, friendly, a true bike guy and has always tried to get me the best deal. He even fabricated something for me when he couldn't find the part to do what I wanted. My bike goes to him only for as long as I'm in the area! • Link to this review Was this review helpful?Share the love with chocolates, flowers, and vaccines too! Scott is the only person I want to work on or advise me regarding my BMW or Yamaha bikes. 48k on bike bought her new. Used metzlet Z8 all along. fronts go 10-12k been great in rain. Grip is good in corners. High marks for this tire. Will continue to purchase It works for me I ride a BMW R1200R. This is my second Z8. Even when the tire is worn, it performs well.

My last one went for 8K. Great in rain and good feedback on technical roads. OK Tire BMW RT1200 Tire is good, however, I got about 6K on the rear tire. I don't think it's worth the money for the mileage. It does have great performance though when it had tread. only 7.5K km and must replace . Great tire in the Wet and dry. I commute on my BMW F800GT. I just got a service on my bike today and thought I might need new tires. I have had these on since new. I now have 16k on my bike and the dealer said I am at 60% tread. Im good for a bit. They are worth the money. I've switched from Z6 to Z8 and love the tire in the Blue Ridge twisties in Georgia & NC. I get 11,000 consistently, but I keep a constant check on the air psi 38f & 42r single up no luggage. I ride moderately aggressive, not crotch rocket style. The tires do like to pick up bolts, screws and yes rode kill bones. With consistent inflation, the tires handle unbelievable and wear well. I have no reason to try any other tire.

On my second set of Z8. Check your tire inflation every week regardless of the brand of tire before you ride. z6 on front z8 on the rear of a 1990 Honda CBR 1000F Hurricane. Love the Metzeler tires over Bridgestones. I ride my FZ1 here in Michigans UP as early and late in the year as I can these tires are pretty amazing in well below freezing temps and they even do alright on my gravel road. If I had any complaint it's that I only seem to get about 5 or 6 thousand miles out of the rear. I've been a Metzeler fan for many years, great tread life and superb handling qualities. You can't go wrong with a Metzeler tire. I ride an FJR 1300 and have tried Metzeler Z6s and Z8s. The Z6s lasted 2,000 more miles than the Z8s. I'm a pretty aggressive rider so probably some extra wear but in my opinion the Z6s are still a much better tire than the Z8s. Would not buy another set of Z8s, went back to Z6s. This is my second Z8 on a BMW R1150RT. It's one of the best overall tires I've ever used on the bike.

I have used Metzeler Tires on a number of heavy touring motorcycles. Though the market has caught up in many ways...Metzeler leads the way in this segment. The Z8 Roadtec is not a universal tire you will find in every motorcycle store. Motorcycle Superstore always seems to have the size I need both front or rear for my K16000GTL. The tires inspire confidence in any riding situation and ESPECIALLY when I have the bike loaded to Max GVWR. To me they are the best tires for the k 1600 gt. (elk grove Village, IL, IL) I have a BMW K1600GTL, this bike is rough on tires because of its weight, but the handling is AWESOME with the Z8s, rolls through the corners like its whispering to me "next corner, let's get after it." I am back for more This will be my second Z8 rear tire and I am still working on the first Z8 front tire after 11,000 + miles of daily riding. I had switched from Dunlops on my SV6650 and took the Z8s for a nice, twisty ride. The feel of stability in curves was pronounced and they hug the road quite nicely.
