No wonder most manufacturers are looking to bring in more and more models which try and balance decent looks and fuel efficiency. Here is a list of top 125cc bikes that rule the roost in the 125cc market in India. 1. Honda CB Shine SP This is the crown jewel in Honda's commuter motorcycle line-up. The CB Shine SP is an updated model of the Honda CB Shine, which used to be the best-selling 125cc bike in the country and also is the largest selling motorcycle for Honda Two Wheelers. The bike looks decent and the SP badging brings in a smoother 5-speed transmission instead of the 4-speed unit that does duty on the CB Shine.

It gets a 125cc engine that produces 10.57bhp and 10.3rpm. One can also specify his CB Shine SP with a disc brake upfront and Honda's patented Combi-Braking System (CBS), making this a bike loaded with features. Honda claims that the CB Shine SP will run for 65 kilometres on a single litre of petrol. The prices for Honda CB Shine SP start at ₹ 59,900. It has been almost a year since Yamaha launched the Saluto and it remains Yamaha's only product in the 125cc segment. The Saluto hasn't quite found success but nonetheless makes for a very attractive proposition. The Saluto weighs in at just 112kgs and that makes it really fuel efficient. In fact Yamaha claims it to have a fuel efficiency figure of 78kmpl. The prices for the Saluto start at ₹ 52,600. The Glamour is more popular in the rural markets of India and has sold 679,147 units in FY 2016 and therefore, it is officially the largest selling 125cc bike in India now.

Its sales have grown by leaps and bounds. The Glamour's engine produces 8.9bhp and 10.35Nm with a claimed efficiency of 81Km/l. Hero had updated the Glamour in 2014 and looks like it doesn't need an update any time soon. The Prices for Hero Glamour start at ₹ 59,756. The Phoenix couldn't quite set the sales charts on fire for TVS but its not that bad a motorcycle. 5. Hero Super Splendor The second offering from Hero in the 125cc segment, Hero has tried to make the best use of the Splendor brand. While the Super Splendor might not be a hot seller but along with the Glamour and the Ignitor, it allowed Hero to sell 109,955 125cc motorcycles in April 2016 alone.
