The free event will be staged at the Honda Australia Rider Training Centre, 451 Mona Vale Road, St Ives and features free on-site parking for scooters and motorcycles. All major brands are turning out in force at the event with test rides available to suitably attired riders with a licence or learners permit. Over 100 different models will be displayed at the Sydney Scooter Expo, some for the first time in Australia. The undoubted star of the show will be the reintroduced PX150. At 34 years young this iconic Vespa model is about as retro chic as it gets. Since its 1977 launch Vespa have sold more than three million of this model that was made famous by Italian Giorgio Bettinelli in his books In Vespa and Brum Brum a recount of his journeys around the world on a PX, that saw him clock up more than 254,000 kilometres.
This latest PX150 model is powered by a modern two-stroke engine fed by the latest advances in electronic fuel injection. A kick start is retained to complete ?the look? but the machines also starts at the push of a button. Thanks to an automatic mixing system there is no need to pre-mix the fuel before filling the eight-litre tank. Riders of the PX need to realise that this model is pure retro chic, not only in the way it looks, but also in the way it rides. No twist and go style CVT for the PX purists, only a four-speed manual gearbox will do. Riding on tiny 10? rims front and back, with a spare tucked up under the side cover, the PX is not for everyone, but for the traditionalists nothing else will do;  the first shipment of the $5990 machines is already sold out. Honda, as you would expect, takes a more modern approach to mid-capacity scooters and will showcase its brilliant PCX125. At $3990 the four-stroke PCX features a new idle stop system that automatically cuts the engine after three seconds idling;
the engine is automatically restarted on positive throttle application. The system can be disabled via a button on the switch-block.  It takes some getting accustomed to but Bike Life quickly learned to trust the system.tourmaster womens motorcycle jackets Sipping only three litres per 100km the PCX125 is the essence of convenient and economical city motoring.best motorcycle roads finger lakes The PCX 125 chassis is many steps above most entry level scooters. motorcycle rear shock refurbishmentA huge 180kg carrying capacity puts some full size touring motorcycles to shame and the suspension is capable of carrying an average size rider and pillion, while still shrugging off most bumps.predator motorcycle helmet china
A decent amount of under-seat storage is available and a small pocket in the front fascia swallows additional gear. Convenience can be further extended upon fitment of the optional 26-litre top-box for $299. motorcycle shop in citrus heights caHonda has an accessories line for the PCX as long as your arm.m5 v10 motor for sale Vespa?s PX150 and Honda?s PCX 125 will be the two very different stars of the show but with Piaggio, Yamaha, PGO, Daelim, TGB, Kymco, SYM, Aprilia, Torino, Manhattan and the California Scooter Company all displaying their wares, it?s fair to say that there is something for everyone at the 2011 Sydney Scooter Expo.vespa for sale sydney Become a StockistFind locations near me
