We are coming down to San Antonio for a motorcycle trip March 17-22. We are planning on riding the Hill Country and visiting Fredricksburg. We are interested in good restaurants, winding roads,hiking, and relaxing place to stay One destination mentioned in this post From Fredericksburg you can take Ranch Road 965 north for a great ride to Enchanted Rock for a little hiking - …state.tx.us/spdest/… (do this early in the morning as the state park fills up fast). Hwy 16 from Fredericksburg to Kerrville is very scenic and then 173 from Kerrville to Bandera is very beautiful, where you can stop at the Cabaret for a beer. There are so many good rides in this area that you could spend weeks going all over the place. You must go to Luckenbach of course! You go through it if you take the back roads from 281 at Blanco, heading west toward Fredericksburg. It's a pretty drive, 2 lane winding roads after Blanco, and plenty of fellow bikers to enjoy it with! I agree too, the drive to Bandera is one of the prettiest around here.

They have a few cabins of various sizes set off of the highway in a wooded area, an ice house, and a gift shop/breakfast cafe on location.
